Before you land
Email or WhatsApp us with your dates in Medellín and where you are staying. Tell us roughly what you want — a couple of fangs, a six-tooth top, iced or plain — and we will tell you honestly whether it fits your timeline.
The single biggest factor is when you book the mould, not how many total days you are in town. Every day you wait to get fitted is a day off the production window, so get fitted early in your trip whenever possible.
Days 1–3: the mould
We take impressions at our studio or come to your hotel or Airbnb — El Poblado, Provenza, Manila and Laureles are routine for us, and we cover the whole Valle de Aburrá; see all areas we cover. It takes about 20 minutes: you bite into a tray of dental impression material for a couple of minutes per arch.
No filing, no drilling, no dentist chair. If you are jet-lagged, a morning slot on day two works fine.
Days 2–5: design sign-off
We send a design proposal by email: tooth selection, metal and karat, finish (mirror, diamond-cut, open face) and any stones. Once you approve and pay the deposit, the metal is bought and casting begins.
Not sure which metal? Our gold vs silver guide breaks it down by budget and how often you plan to wear the piece.
Production windows
Plain silver or chrome: 5–10 days from the mould. Gold (9K, 14K, 18K) and iced pieces: 10–15 days, because karat casting and hand stone-setting take longer.
So for a two-week trip, silver is comfortable and gold is doable if you book on day one or two. For a one-week trip, silver fangs or a small set is the realistic choice — or order gold and have it shipped afterwards.
Fitting and handover in person
We do a final fitting, adjust if needed, and hand over the set with a case and care instructions. We show you how to put them in and take them out without forcing anything, so they are comfortable from day one.
Pay the balance at handover. Then go enjoy Medellín — though maybe take them out for the bandeja paisa.
Flying out before it's ready?
No problem. We finish the piece, check the fit against your mould and send it by insured, tracked international courier. Shipping is quoted by destination before you leave, so you know the full cost upfront.

Common visitor mistakes
The most common one is messaging the day you land and asking for the set the next morning: the mould itself is fast, but casting needs real time, especially in gold. The second mistake is not confirming the metal before arriving, which pushes the whole process back a day or two.
If your schedule is tight, tell us your actual hard deadline (not just your flight date) in the first message, so we can build a production plan that is realistic.
Frequent visitors and dental tourism
More travellers are combining tourism, cosmetic procedures and a stop at the studio for grillz, because the per-tooth price in COP is usually much lower in dollars or euros than back home. If that's you, share your full itinerary so we can slot the mould appointment in around your other plans.

Sample itineraries by trip length
Three-day trip: a small silver set — two fangs or a four-tooth front — booked the day you land or the day after, is the realistic choice. That window usually does not allow full gold or iced work, but you can pay the deposit and have the finished piece shipped home after you fly out.
One-week trip: you have room for silver finished before your flight, and if you book the mould on day one or two, also for small 9K or 14K gold pieces. A full 18K set or large stones typically needs the full 10–15 days, so save those for a two-week trip or longer.
Two weeks or more: this is the ideal scenario, since it comfortably covers any metal and stone combination, including full iced sets, with room for a mid-trip fit check if anything needs adjusting before final handover.
Pairing your mould appointment with the rest of your trip
Many visitors use the waiting period to explore different parts of Medellín: an afternoon walking around El Poblado or Provenza, a night out dancing downtown, or a day trip to Rionegro and Llanogrande. Since the mould only takes about 20 minutes, it is easy to fit in between those plans without losing a full day.
If you are staying in a different area than where you plan to spend most of your trip, tell us both addresses — it often works best to take the mould near your first accommodation and arrange final handover closer to wherever you are staying in your last few days, so you are not travelling far right before your flight.
Returning visitors: booking a second piece
Several clients who visited Medellín before write to us on their next trip for a second piece or a style refresh — an extra fang, a metal change, or adding stones to a set they already own. If that's you, tell us which piece you have and when we made it, so the new design pairs well with the original.
It's also common to take the mould on one trip and finalise the design later by email, once you're back home and have had time to think it over. Your mould doesn't expire — we keep it on file and use it whenever you confirm the order, with no need for a second trip to Medellín.
What to have ready before your mould appointment
To make the first appointment move fast, it helps to arrive with a clear idea of how many teeth you want covered, whether you prefer plain metal or stones, and a rough budget in mind, so the design proposal matches what you actually want from the first draft. Reference photos of styles you like also help, which you can compare against our styles page.
You don't need to do anything special to your teeth beforehand — no special cleaning routine, no foods to avoid. The one thing that matters is arriving on time for the appointment, since the impression material only stays workable for a limited window once it's mixed.
Sample itinerary: 7 days in Medellín
Day 1: you arrive, settle in and message us to book the mould — getting it done that same day or the next is ideal. Day 2 or 3: we take the mould at your hotel or the studio, confirm the design, and you pay the deposit. While the piece is in production, you have the rest of the week to explore El Poblado, hike up to Parque Arví, or eat your way through Laureles without worrying about your grillz.
Days 4–6: production continues; for silver or chrome this often lines up with the last part of your trip and can be ready before day 7. For gold or iced work on a tight one-week trip, the normal plan is to have the finished set shipped after you get home — don't worry if your flight leaves before it's done. Again: get fitted early in your trip to keep every option open.
Sample itineraries: 10 and 14 days
With 10 days you have comfortable room for any metal, as long as the mould is taken in the first two or three days: silver and chrome are usually ready by the midpoint of your trip, leaving several free days for sightseeing or a mid-trip fit check if a small adjustment is needed. Small 9K or 14K gold pieces fit comfortably in this window too.
With 14 days the margin is even bigger: you can order 18K gold, full iced sets, or multiple stone-set teeth, and still have days to spare for a final fit review before handover. It's also the ideal window if you want to combine your piece with other appointments, like cosmetic or medical visits, without the grillz timeline being the limiting factor.
Sample itinerary: 30 days or a longer stay
A full month in Medellín removes almost all time pressure: you can take the mould calmly during your first week, let the design go through one or two rounds of email revisions, and still have plenty of time for the final fitting and any touch-ups before you fly out. That also opens the door to more elaborate pieces, like a full gold set with large stones, without the urgency of a short trip.
If your stay is long because of work, study, or because you're exploring a move to the city, it's also a good time to get a second opinion on the design or compare several styles in person before deciding — something that's hard to fit into a trip of just a few days.
What to pack and prepare before your trip
You don't need anything special for the mould itself, but it helps to have your budget sorted out first: check prices before your flight so you know exactly what each metal costs per tooth and its rough USD equivalent. If you have photos of styles you like, save them on your phone to show at the first appointment — it speeds up the design proposal considerably.
It also helps to keep your appointment confirmation (date, area and time) somewhere easy to check, along with our WhatsApp number, so you're not relying only on email if your plans shift at the last minute. If you're changing accommodation mid-trip, let us know ahead of time which address to use for the mould and which for final handover.
Combine the mould with sightseeing in El Poblado, Laureles and Comuna 13
Since the mould only takes about 20 minutes, it's easy to fold it into a normal day of sightseeing. In El Poblado you can take the mould in the morning and spend the afternoon between restaurants and parks; in Laureles the vibe is calmer and more residential, great if you'd rather walk between cafés and your appointment.
A walk through Comuna 13, with its murals and outdoor escalators, can be scheduled on the same day as your fit check or final handover, since both appointments are quick and don't require blocking off half a day. That way your piece keeps moving behind the scenes while you see the city — which is exactly why it pays to get fitted early in your trip.
